In-depth analysis of tips for selecting permanent magnet motors

With the continuous development of the motor industry, one type of motor is widely used because of its own advantages and functions, and that is the permanent magnet motor. There are a variety of permanent magnet motors on the market, with different prices, uses, structures and working principles. Because of this, many people have a problem, that is, they don’t know where to start when choosing a permanent magnet motor. So below, the editor will give an in-depth analysis of the tips for selecting permanent magnet motors! I hope it can help friends who lack experience!

1. Type selection

When selecting the type of permanent magnet motor, on the one hand, it must be based on the mechanical characteristics, starting performance, speed regulation performance, braking system, overload capacity, etc. of the motor required by consumer machinery; on the other hand, it must also be based on saving initial investment, reducing Economic aspects such as operating costs are comprehensively differentiated. When there are no excessive requirements for starting, speed, etc., three-phase asynchronous cage motors are preferred.

2. Power selection

When selecting the rated power of the permanent magnet motor, the additional power of the selected motor should be slightly greater than the power required by the consumer machinery. It should neither be overloaded nor lightly loaded for a long time. We can use analogies, statistics, practical tests, measurement methods, etc. for measurement.

3. Voltage selection

For the additional voltage of the AC motor, we should choose a voltage that is consistent with the power supply network, and the additional voltage of the DC motor should also match the power supply voltage. Under normal circumstances, the conventional operating voltage is 110V or 220V, and high-power DC motors can be increased to 600-800V to a total of 1000v.

4. Selection of speed

According to the speed and transmission system of the production machinery, the rated speed of the motor is determined after comparing economic and technical aspects. For motors with different additional powers, the higher the additional speed, the lower the size, weight and cost of the motor.

5. Selection of appearance mechanism

There are many shapes of permanent magnet motors for regular operation, including: open type, protective type, closed type, sealed type, and explosion-proof type. We can choose the appropriate shape mechanism according to our own needs.
