How to set the speed of servo motor

Servo motors are mechanical equipment often used in many production industries and factories. During use, many friends do not know how to set the origin of the servo motor, and even report that many problems will occur with the speed of the motor. For example: when the servo motor speed is low, the motor will stop working. So how to set the speed of the servo motor? The editor will explain it to you in detail below!

1. Can the servo motor speed be set arbitrarily?

The speed of this motor can be set arbitrarily. As for how to set it, it depends on the specific application control method. Generally there are two situations:

1. If you use an external analog quantity for speed control, the analog voltage you input is proportional to the motor's speed. For example, the default internal parameters of the driver are a voltage value of 1V, and the motor rotates 500 times per minute and outputs a voltage of 3V. That's 1500 revolutions per minute. Of course, the motor speed corresponding to each V voltage can be set. The default is 500, which can be changed to 80 or 800. As long as you change the voltage value of the output analog quantity, you can set the motor speed arbitrarily.

2. Another method is to use the azimuth control method. At this time, the motor speed is proportional to the frequency of pulses sent by the host. If the driver internally sets 10,000 pulses for one revolution, assuming that the host sends 10,000 pulses per second, the motor will rotate for one second. Go around in a circle. At this time, if you want to change the speed of the motor, you only need to change the frequency of pulses sent by the host. The higher the pulse frequency sent by the host, the faster the motor rotates.

2. Why does the servo motor stop working in a short time when the speed is low?

Generally speaking, no matter how low the speed of the servo motor is, the motor will not stop running. When the motor stops working, it should not have much to do with the speed. The reason why the motor stops operating at low speed may just be accidental.

When the servo motor stops working, it is recommended that you check whether the load capacity is sufficient. If the load capacity is insufficient, the motor will issue an overload alarm and stop immediately. It is recommended to check what kind of connection is used at the load connection, such as timing belt, screw rod, and gear. Check whether the joint is slipping and see if the motor shaft stops when the motor stops running.

3. What is the relationship between servo motor speed and voltage? Whether it is DC servo or AC servo motor:

① At high speed, the servo motor speed is proportional to the voltage; ② At low speed, the voltage is lower than the speed drop; ③ When the motor speed is zero, the voltage is not zero;

Simply put, the voltage changes as the motor speed changes: Voltage = Back EMF Armature Voltage Drop.

The speed of the servo motor is directly related to the voltage. Changing the voltage can change the motor speed. When the motor speed is low, the motor will stop working. At this time, it is not enough to indicate that there is a problem with the motor speed. You should check the load capacity.
