We have introduced in detail how to set the speed of the servo motor before. It can be seen that the speed of the motor can be set arbitrarily. As for how to set it, it needs to be determined according to the detailed control method of the motor. However, there are many types of servo motors on the market, and many people don't know how to distinguish them, so they don't know how to choose the product they want. The editor below will introduce how to identify servo motors. I hope it can help everyone!
1. Determine the inertia of the motor based on the size of the motor.
Low inertia means that the servo motor is relatively long and flat, and the main shaft inertia is small. When the motor makes repeated movements with high frequency, the inertia is small and the heat is small. It can be seen that low inertia motors are more suitable for high-frequency reciprocating motion. But the general torque is relatively small.
The high-inertia servo motor is relatively large and has a large torque. This type of motor is more suitable for situations where the torque is large but does not reciprocate quickly.
2. Ratio of load inertia to motor rotor inertia
The servo motor driver controls the response of the motor. The value is the ratio of the load inertia to the motor rotor inertia, which is one and cannot exceed five times. Through the design of the mechanical transmission device, the ratio of the load inertia to the motor rotor inertia can be close to one or smaller.
When the load inertia is really large and the mechanical design cannot make the ratio of the load inertia to the motor rotor inertia less than five times, a motor with a larger motor rotor inertia, a so-called large inertia motor, can be used.
3. According to the rated speed of the motor
So far, the rated speed of the servo motors we often use is probably between 1000r/min~3000r/min. In addition, we can also determine the inertia type of the motor based on the rotation speed. Under normal circumstances, 3000r/min is low inertia, 2000r/min is medium inertia, and 1000r/min is high inertia.
4. Torque
The rated torque of the servo motor must meet the actual demand, but there is no need to leave too much margin. Because under normal circumstances, its torque is 3 times the rated torque. What we need to pay attention to is that the load torque of continuous operation ≤ the rated torque of the servo motor, and the torque required by the mechanical system < the torque output by the servo motor.
When performing mechanical verification, you may also need to consider the mechanical characteristic type of the load. The mechanical characteristic types of the load generally include: constant torque load, constant power load, quadratic law load, linear law load, and hybrid load. . That is, under the same power, the inertia type of high torque motor is high inertia.
